About natter.

What is natter?

natter. is a video calling service running on Fledgling.cloud.

Why does it exist?

Because too many services are built to extract value from people these days, rather than provide it.

Other video calling services that you know - and almost certainly don't love - offer you just enough to get you in the door to their services, but as soon as you're in they come along rattling the tin asking you to pay to get anything actually useful out of their services.

None of that with natter.

It does one thing, and it does it well: let's you chat with people at the click of a button, for as long as you like, in as high a quality as possible.

Oh, and it runs on the lowest settings that Fledgling.cloud offers - 128MB of memory. It just goes to show that you can do a lot without spending a fortune!

How does it work?

natter. uses WebRTC to power your video calls. WebRTC is a peer-to-peer system, which means your video and audio streams go directly to the other people on your call - not via some dodgy server that some huge corporate entity can eavesdrop on.

It's end-to-end encrypted, it's directly between all of the participants of the call, and nothing about your conversations is tracked or recorded.

Why only 4 people?

Because natter. is for nattering - between a couple of friends whenever the mood takes you.

Any more than that, and you're having a meeting, and there are other (arguably far less interesting) products for that.

Okie dokie!
